Your scarf, your style
Do you remember on your last long-haul flight how glad you were that you had that big, cozy shawl with you?

One that you could wrap yourself in when the lights went out and rest time began? One that gave you a little bit of security in the night air and that could shield you from the cool, draughty air on board?
It's a similar feeling when you wrap yourself in a large scarf for your outfit instead of always slipping into a jacket. Just as warm as you need it - you can shield yourself from drafts, and if it does get warmer, you can loosen the scarf or take it off completely. At the same time, you're not restricted in any way, you can wear your favorite blouse underneath and maybe a pair of wrist warmers if it's already cooler - and the look is complete! A large scarf is a real statement accessory!
Why is this a good idea?
-
It's just so easy - a scarf is lighter than a jacket, it can be worn more loosely (= less tightly) than a jacket - and you don't sink into thicker layers of fabric or even down
-
Fashion forward: a large scarf is also a statement accessory. You can quickly give your look a new direction with a scarf by playing with colors and materials. Chunky knit scarves and tweed-like yarns immediately give your look a rustic, boyish touch (imagine a walk in the Scottish Highlands, preferably with a dog!). With cuddly, possibly long-haired qualities (cashmere! Super-soft merino! Mohair!) in delicate or very bright colors, your look becomes much more feminine and refined - imagine you are sitting outside a café on Boulevard St. Germain with a latte, looking at the passers-by and letting your thoughts wander. With a flick of the wrist (or with each new scarf) you can quickly change your look. You decide - would you prefer something solid, fine and elegant today or with a touch of coolness?
-
Multifunctional and versatile: You can wear the scarf indoors or outdoors, while driving, walking or when the weather isn't quite sure what to do. You can pull it over your head like a hood, put it around your shoulders or wear it around your neck in the classic way.

How to wear your scarf
Now you might be wondering how to do that with this scarf, how to wear it? Here are some cool styling ideas for you:
1. Modern & casual : Simply wrap the scarf around your neck once or twice (depending on the length) and let the ends hang loosely - a simple yet cool style.
2. The classic : Fold the scarf in half, put the loop around your neck and simply pull the two ends of the scarf through the loop - even if this isn't necessarily my personal favorite, it works great for shorter scarves and it's quick to do. Men like to wear their blazer scarves like this (then you'll get the picture! ;))
3. The stole : Wrap the entire width of the scarf around your shoulders. You can let the ends fall freely down, depending on the length, or you can tie a loose knot in front of your chest if you need to accommodate some length.
4. The loop : If you're fed up with all the tying, draping and messing around with the ends, opt for a loop scarf (cowl) that is knitted in the round. It couldn't be easier - pull it over your head and you're done. A nice, smaller loop is BABY IT'S COLD OUTSIDE - a quick, smaller project.
5. The long haul : And then of course, the cozy classic, the scarf / blanket / the feeling of home - when traveling. Here, the look is not so important, probably only the stewardess will come by now and then. Wrap your large scarf loosely around your shoulders or cover yourself with it when you put your feet up on the flight - and then close your eyes and dream of the many great things and new possibilities that await you after landing!
